Clean Water in South Sudan
Clean water continues to be an issue all across rural Africa, but especially in South Sudan, where high temperatures, combined with dirt, insects, and microscopic parasites, infest water, from rivers and springs. More than 3.5 million people every year die from water related diseases and South Sudan is included in that number. As a part of Four Corners’ ministry in South Sudan, we are providing relief to small communities who are in need of clean water. We are bringing Sawyer Water Filter Kits with us during relief efforts to assist small villages in providing clean water for their families. The filters are reusable and work with standard jerry cans that are commonly used for transport of water. These filters help communities take a step towards sustainable clean water. We place these filters in the hands of community leaders and church pastors so that they can meet a physical need, while also opening doors for gospel advancement among those living in more rural areas of the South.
