Dr. Richard Hood

Dr. Richard Hood is an associate of the J. F. Smith Group and has conducted interviews in numerous feasibility studies. Over the course of his academic career, Richard taught in Arkansas and Louisiana grades five through university level.  He worked in staff development with the State Department of Education until 1990 when he began work at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the College of Pharmacy as coordinator of Continuing Pharmacy Education. During the 1980’s, Richard was coordinator of a public school relations program called “Your Public Schools…Expect the Best,” which was implemented in many parishes throughout northeastern Louisiana.  He also served as president of the Louisiana School Public Relations Association.

More recently, Richard served as the Executive Assistant to the President at ULM for 15 years.  He also served as Director of Alumni Relations and Development in the College of Pharmacy for two years before retiring in June of 2014. Additionally, he worked part-time in the financial securities business.  He resides in Louisiana with his wife Donna who is Head of Nursing at Louisiana Tech.
