Mr. Chip Townsend is new to the J.F. Smith Group in 2019.

From 1981 to 2013, Chip spent his career in the banking industry, most notably having served as President and CEO of First Coast Community Bank in Fernandina Beach from 1987 to 2013.  After his retirement he continued to serve on the Board of Directors through 2016.

During his banking career, Chip served in many roles in the non-profit community in northeast Florida including the position of Chairman of the Board of Baptist Medical Center-Nassau where the hospital successfully undertook ambitious philanthropic efforts in order to build a new Inpatient Care Facility. Chip’s role in that campaign and in other non-profit efforts was to identify potential donors and to tell the story of the need to those donors.
