Curriculum and STEAM Initiatives
As Rockhurst forms innovative men for others ready to “set the world on fire”, it’s paramount that students are prepared for their world. The vision of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) initiative is to form innovative men for others who live and collaborate in an engaging learning environment. The initiative informs all classroom teachers how to leverage classroom design to optimize learning through the innovative Active Learning Classrooms. Rockhurst is committed to developing a nationally recognized curriculum that includes Computer science (required for all entering freshmen), Engineering, Robotics and project-based courses in which students gain experience solving the scientific challenges affecting today’s world.
